Home Brew: songs about life on the south coast

HOME BREW is about the ebbs and flows of life on the SA south coast through the medium of song-writing.

6 Workshops + 6 open mic recording sessions = CD!

In the heart of Port Elliot over 6 chilly Wednesday nights something exciting will brew.

Congregating weekly at the southern ‘home of original music’, The Hotel Elliot, local storytellers will blend words and music together about the ebb and flow of life on the south coast.

Under the guiding hands of established SA bards Heather Frahn, Gayle Buckby and John Baker (The Baker Suite) and Quentin Eyers, local aspirants will write, collaborate, perform and record their stories.

The resulting CD will be recorded live at the Hotel Elliot in May.

Be part of the workshop process or join both mentors and participants as they untap their songs, full strength, in a fabulous celebration to launch their CD at Goolwa’s Centenary Hall on Saturday 3 August.

Home Brew is presented by Alexandrina Council, Country Arts SA, and Arts SA for Just Add Water 2013 through the Cultural Places Initiative, an Australian Government pilot program through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body. It is also enjoys the generosity of sponsorship partners the Hotel Elliot, Hills Cider and Vale Ale.
