Country Arts SA recognises that we are living and creating on First Nations Lands and we are committed to working together to honour their living cultures.
In 2024 we will present unforgettable arts experiences made especially for young people.
We’ve teamed up with some of Australia’s leading Arts organisations to present live theatre, workshops, film events and dance events across regional South Australia.
We look forward to seeing you and your students in 2024!
Among the performances we have on offer for pre-school aged children, are Windmill Theatre’s Grug, based on the much-loved picture book character created by Australian writer Ted Prior; and Patch Theatre’s I Wish… which asks the question, What is your secret ingredient that makes you unique?
For a study on all forms of rotation you can’t go past 360 ALLSTARS, a phenomenal physical performance of BMX, breakdancing, basketball, acrobatics, drumming and more that delivers a supercharged urban circus. Your students will leave dizzy with excitement to learn more.
Based on the book by international best-selling author Oliver Jeffers, How To Catch a Star is a brand new Australian Chamber Orchestra production for junior primary students which will take you on a journey from awe and wonder, through to perseverance and triumph. In a stunning adaptation by Sandra Eldridge, Jeffers’ magical tale about reaching for dreams will be brought to life on stage through storytelling and exquisite new music by Elena Kats-Chernin performed by an ACO string quartet.
Nunga Screen is also returning, a free film event which this year will feature a new film produced by emerging First Nations filmmakers.
