Country Arts SA to commission regional artists for greeting cards
Country Arts SA is searching for five regional South Australian artists to create an artwork each for a set of greeting cards to be sent across the nation.
Artists are asked to respond to any, or all, of the themes of: Celebration, Connection, Place.
These greeting cards will be used to send notes of congratulations, thank you, season greetings and more to Country Arts SA friends, patrons, partners and collaborators across Australia.
Country Arts SA Chief Executive Anthony Peluso said he was looking forward to working with regional artists and seeing their work distributed in letterboxes nationwide.
“When we write to those close to us, I know I will feel proud that our thoughts are complemented by the work of emerging and early career regional South Australian visual artists. It helps to send the right message and also brightens people’s lives, igniting their curiosity about the original artwork and the artists who created them. I look forward to seeing what our regional artists create.”
The greeting cards will be printed on recycled card and the back of each card will have a brief artwork statement, a photo and short biography of the artist.
The selection panel will be made up of Country Arts SA staff members including the Chief Executive, Visual Arts Program Manager Lauren Mustillo, Aboriginal Creative Producer Nikki Ashby and Head of Design Beth Wuttke.
A total of $1000 + GST will be paid to each of the selected artists, inclusive of all expenses including the rights to reproduce the artwork for the express purpose outlined in theArtist Brief here.
Interested artists are asked to submit an Expression of Interest below by 18 September, 2020. Once all EOIs are received, 5 artists will be selected to create an artwork.
