About

Mrs Mushnik (Tarina Everett) is the owner of a little florist shop in down town Skid Row. Her misfit employees, Seymour Krelborn (Max Hunt) and Audrey (Jade Ranson) are facing the gloomy prospect of closing the shop up for good and living on the street; you just can’t run a flower shop in a dump like that!  Audrey wants nothing more than to live on a little, grassy allotment, just off the interstate, with a sweet little guy for a husband.  Seymour wishes for nothing more than to be that sweet little guy!

He’ll have to get past her greasy boyfriend first. The slimy and sadistic, Orin Scrivello (Dil Simmons) has the lovely Audrey in his clutches as he whisks her off to their ‘dates’ on the back of a rough-looking motorcycle.  A dentist by trade, he is more than a little fascinated by human pain and suffering- a trait that all but petrifies young Seymour.  Despite their gloomy existence, they may yet have a chance for the life that they dream of.  Suddenly, all of their hopes and dreams are put into a strange and interesting plant, perched on a window sill.  Little do they know, they may come to regret it when all of their dreams start coming true!

The Magpie Warblers are an amateur theatre group, based in Port Pirie and the surrounding areas, giving theatre-goers the opportunity to strut their stuff during the winter months of the year. Focussing on a smaller cast and unique shows, they seek to give everybody the opportunity to grow as a performer and work with a range of other individuals- of all talents and backgrounds. We seek to help the theatre community in the Mid North grow with a passion for performing and involvement in the wider community.
