Euphoria has been developed over the past two years in consultation with communities across regional South Australia. As part of the community engagement and research, playwright Emily Steel spent time as artist in residence in Berri, Whyalla, Mount Gambier, Streaky Bay, Ceduna, Lameroo, Bordertown and Burra, connecting with people from across each community to talk about the joys and challenges of living in rural and remote areas.

For more information follow this link to Country Arts SA’s website The Dirt which features more information on the creative development of Euphoria.

We are currently building an exciting national tour of Euphoria in October-November 2022 and April-July 2023. If you are interested in being a part of this unique tour, we are applying to Playing Australia please email [email protected] by 8 October 2021.

This platform will provide an opportunity for audiences to ‘unpick’ the work and in doing so; engage in conversation around the themes and issues it raises about mental health in country towns.
