Finance Officer
Country Arts South Australia is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic full-time Finance Officer to work in their new office located at Collinswood.
The role is an integral part of the Finance Team and is well suited to a detailed oriented person with demonstrated written and numeracy skills, attention to accuracy.
This important role requires excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to support a small finance team and participate in all aspects of the financial administration and contribute to improvement projects.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for providing essential support to the Finance Manager, managing day to day financial operation activities. The role involves handling supplier and customer queries, liaising with creditors and debtors and performing various administrative tasks, including insurance activities, to ensure smooth financial processes.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with other finance team members to provide, cross train and to backup finance functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets, general ledger maintenance and payroll.
- Assist with the preparation of financial and human resource reporting obligations including monthly management financial reports, statistical reports, Financial Statements and the Annual Report.
- Keep accounting information records, registers up to date and reconciled, and organising the yearly asset stock taking process.
- Provide assistance in the provision of an effective payroll service by assisting with the timely payment of salaries and wages, updating employee and payroll records and assisting with pay-related enquires (backup payroll).
- Contribute to the delivery of corporate services by assisting in specific project work or participating as a member of a working party.
- Maintain accurate computerised filing systems, accounting reconciliations and support documentation, corporate registers and spreadsheets as required.
About you
- You will have proven ability to manage competing tasks, prioritise timelines, problem solve and work flexibly and who is adaptable to change as and when required.
- You will have demonstrated experience in an Accounts Administration role and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and written and numeracy skills
- You will have demonstrated experience working in a finance support role with accounts payable and/or receivable processing, general ledger maintenance, budget and reporting, and willingness to support payroll processing.
- You will have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate processes and procedures to internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to learn new information, processes and procedures and adapt to change.
- An understanding of, and awareness of Public Sector Treasury requirements, accounting, and taxation principles is desirable.
Special conditions: Occasional out of hours work and regular intrastate travel may be required.
