Writing competition

As part of Mental Health Week, mindshare, an online mental health community, is hosting Open Your Mind  writing competition.

 

This year’s competition includes blog’s and short stories.

 

All entries in the competition will be displayed on the mindshare website –  www.mindshare.org.au.

 

This competition is open to everyone (not just those who have lived with or experienced a mental illness).

 

 

Poetry:

 

Poets are requested to write poems of 4-12 lines about an aspect of Mental Health and enter under one of the following categories:

 

Masters:  Individuals who are 65+

Youth:  12 to 18 years old

Open Rural:  Applicants from country areas (all ages)

Indigenous:  Aboriginal /Torres Strait Islanders

Multicultural:  Individuals with multicultural descent

Carers:  A person caring for someone with a mental health issue or illness

Open Metro:  Individuals who live in the local metropolitan area(18-65yrs)

 

 

Short Stories:

 

This category is open to short stories between 1500 to 3000 words in length.  Writers may choose to use the Open Your Mind theme as a concept or they may write on any subject of their own choosing.

 

Blogs:

 

Bloggers are invited to contribute a blog, 500 – 100 words in length,  on social justice, or a topic of their of their own choice for the mindshare website.

 

Entries can be sent into mindshare via post, fax, by hand delivery or by email.

 

 

The winners will be announced during Mental Health Week:
