Winning Vision

“Fishvision” by Helen Burgemeister
In August this year the Mosaic Association of Australia and New Zealand (MAANZ) held their 2013 National Exhibition “Illuminate” at the Bundoora Homestead Gallery in Melbourne.

Riverland artist Helen Burgemeister won first prize in the 3D Free Standing Sculptural Work section with her mosaic piece called FISHVISION.

The angler fish was constructed from polystyrene, welded mesh and materials including glass beads, glass tiles, dichroic glass, recycled 1960’s tiles, silver forks and plastic.

This is the second time Helen has won this award. She was defending champion after winning the 2011 exhibition in Tanunda.
