Tatiara unearthing new talent!

Twelve young, unique and talented singers and musicians from across the Tatiara will take part in the Tatiara Unearthed competition as part of  2013 Youth Week Celebrations. The unique competition is a rare opportunity for young residents to develop their skills with mentors and showcase their talents in a community concert to be held on April 7th, 3.30pm at the Tatiara Civic Centre.

Country Arts SA & Tatiara District Council Arts and Community Development Officer Naomi Fallon and Facilities and Events coordinator Bob Dungey enlisted the help of several successful local and city based musicians to come along and mentor Tatiara’s young performers. The mentoring sessions will culminate in a community concert with each young participant judged by a panel of peers with one talented performer announced winner.

Mentoring sessions are already underway with The Flaming Sambucas singer Terry Nicholas visiting the Tatiara for one-on-one sessions with the Unearthed participants. As a trained musician and band manager, Terry is on hand to answer any niggling questions or doubts the budding young starlets may have.

Tatiara residents will have a chance to judge for their favourite, in concert at 3.30pm on Sunday 7  April at the Tatiara Civic Centre.
