South Coast celebrates surfing through an arts lens

Bringing surf and art together for the south coast’s newest festival, Saltwater SurfArtFest.

May 8-11

Middleton, Port Elliot & Goolwa

Middleton is where many South Australian surfers surf most of the time. It’s also where many of them learned to surf. The south coast and its waves hold a long term place in their personal and collective folklore.   Several generations of surfers share the waves and the stories – both short and tall – to this day.

As part of the Just Add Water team, Co-ordinators,  Barbary O’Brien and Annabelle Collett, with the enthusiastic input of the local surf community, have curated a festival which celebrates this rich culture through an arts lens.

Bringing together all the elements of surf and art is a party waiting to happen, a party which will take over the beachside towns of Middleton, Port Elliot and Goolwa for four days in May.
