Presenter Group Success

The Ceduna and Streaky Bay Presenter Groups hosted bumper crowds at the Country Arts SA, Shows on the Road performance of I Heart Bunnings on 28 and 29 August.

 

One of Australia’s most natural comic talents, Harley Breen toured I Heart Bunnings to eight South Australian towns in August and September.

In Ceduna 88 audience members belly laughed their way through Harley’s tales.

 

In Streaky Bay popular local musician Henry Smale kept the crowd of 104 entertained after the show.  The Presenter Group provided a cabaret style setting, refreshments and cheese platters for sale.

 

Tammy Hall, Audience Development Officer, Artform Development with Country Arts SA was in attendance seeking firsthand feedback on how Country Arts SA can assist communities to better realise their performing arts aspirations.

 

Tracy McEvoy, Chairperson of the Streaky Bay Presenter group says, “Our newly rejuvenated group now has 15 members who all really pitched in for this first performance.  We worked well as a team.  Everyone brings different skills to the group and we are looking forward to a fantastic 2014.”

Members of the Streaky Bay Presenter Group include; Tracy McEvoy, (Chairperson), Helen Lovegrove (Secretary), Karen Trezona (Treasurer), Toni Redding, Katrina Starkey, Ursula Gilmore, Sarah Goosay, Donna Legovini, Leonie Shelly, Patsy Jenkins, Kayla Petty, June Kennedy, Trenna Montgomerie, Sophia Edmunds and Spud Lovegrove.

The Ceduna Presenter Group held a post performance meeting on Wednesday September 11, buoyed by the success of the comedy and new membership to the group.  Members of this group include;  Jan Comas, Sue Ellis, Alice Betts, Carol Suter, Bobby Bennett and; Dane and Sue Burford.

 

Areas that Committee Members work in are: Executive roles; Media, Marketing and Promotion,  Technical Support, Box Office, Performance Development, Audience Development, OW&S, First Aid, Refreshments, Catering, Decoration and; other aspects of Event Management such as bump in, bump out and Waste Management.

Jayne Holland, Arts Officer, Western Eyre, Country Arts SA in partnership with the District Councils of Streaky Bay and Ceduna says, “The two groups have a great dynamic.  They are passionate about bringing performing arts to Western Eyre.  It is hoped that the groups will collaborate to plan and implement Shows on the Road and additional performances in 2014”.

 

Through the Shows on the Road touring program, Country Arts SA is committed to providing the opportunity for local communities to access professional touring performances

 

The Streaky Bay Presenter Group acknowledge the kind support and assistance for I Heart Bunnings from Country Arts SA, the District Council of Streaky Bay; the Streaky Bay Hotel Motel, the community who came to the show and, Henry Smale for performing.

 

The Ceduna Presenter Group acknowledges support and assistance from Country Arts SA and venue assistance from the Ceduna Foreshore Hotel Motel.
