Photo exhibition to honour Military Service

Throughout October, Country Arts SA and Legacy are presenting charity screenings of the Australian World War I film Beneath Hill 60.

Beneath Hill 60 retells one of Australia’s most daring WWI military missions.  Using ingenuity and raw courage, Captain Oliver Woodward and his undertrained comrades form the 1st Australian Tunnelling Company.  From the muddy moonscape of the trenches they set out to mine beneath German trenches to reclaim control of Hill 60.

To honour all of our Australian military service men and women, we are setting up photo exhibits at all of our venues. Anyone who has served, is currently serving or has friends/family who have served in the Australian armed forces are invited to send in photos and letters direct to your nearest venue. You can find venue contact details below:

Manager of the Hopgood Theatre, Sussan Baldwin, has kindly provided us with an example of the kind of photos we are hoping to feature. Here is Sussan’s father, Private Hector Bell who was a Rat of Tobruk in World War II.
