Mt Barker Council asked the Indigenous Art & Cultural Engagement Officer at Country Arts SA for guidance regarding the public art and Mandy Brown introduced Matt Jonas a Goolwa airbrush artist to the Aboriginal Education Officers at Mt Barker High School and Mt Barker Council Officers for collaboration on the artwork.

Since February 2013 the students have been learning airbrushing techniques and design while being mentored by Matt on the 4 murals. The students are able to consider this part of their VET – Vocational Education Training.

The launch of the murals will be at Mt Barker’s Reconciliation week event on the 31st May in the Recreation Hall – Alexandrina Rd Mt Barker, All Welcome to attend!
