Twenty one years after their last performance, the Keith Theatre Group have returned to the local stage for two sold out shows at the Keith Institute.

The theatre group halted after their last production in November 1992 after the director left the district, but has since been re-formed when the local community expressed a wish to return live theatre back to Keith.

The group’s initial aim was to start small performing small one-act plays whilst building up numbers of those wishing to join the group, but very quickly over 30 people of all ages and skill levels had registered their interest.

With that, 21 years later (almost to the day), the Keith Theatre Group presented four one act plays over two nights to sold out audiences and rave reviews.

Overwhelmed by the community’s response, the group are already planning the 2014 season with two productions already penciled in.
