Limestone Coast Orchestra
Come and listen to the amazing music of the newly formed Limestone Coast Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Angus Christie with guest soloists Gary Mansell on trumpet, Robyn Murcott playing cello, and the beautiful soprano voice of Naomi Summers.
A massed choir made up of over 60 local choristers will join the orchestra for a performance of the famous Hebrew Slave Chorus from Verdi’s opera Nabucco.
Instrumental violin teacher Jennie Matthew established the orchestra earlier this year with an open invitation to interested players. Jennie then secured internationally trained conductor Angus Christie from Hamilton to conduct a series of rehearsals and workshops over a ten week period.
The ten week of rehearsals funded through the Country Arts SA Regional Arts Fund will culminate in a gala performance at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre.
The concert will start at 2pm on Sunday June 30.
