The Minister for the Arts has announced the 2013 round one Regional Arts Fund community grants recipients.
The Honorable Mr Tony Burke said “The Regional Arts Fund supports innovative and exciting cultural projects created by local artists living in regional and remote parts of Australia”.
“The Australian Government is committed to supporting the thriving and lively arts scene in regional Australia.
“The arts have an important role in regional communities in exploring ideas, sharing experiences, developing new skills and connecting people.
“This funding also supports the professional development of artists, performers and creators through workshops, residencies and mentoring. This helps to continue building the arts scene in regional Australia – providing opportunities that would not exist without support of this kind.
“In particular, this funding will help support projects in regional and remote Australia, as well as benefit Indigenous communities, young people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and people with disabilities,” Mr Burke said.
