Digital Theatre Mentorship

Country Arts SA and Sandpit present… DIGITAL THEATRE MENTORSHIP

This mentorship could change your life.

Country Arts SA and Sandpit are looking for an artist or technologist to work as part of a paid mentorship over two years in 2015 and 2016.

You will get to work alongside Sandpit on large investigations of emerging technologies and the exciting possibilities that abound in theatre and performance in the future. You will get to develop your own work and further develop your own project from 2017 onwards.

Sandpit focuses on participatory culture to engage communities with digital content and physical experiences. Country Art SA Creative Producer Steve Mayhew will team with Sandpit’s Sam Haren and Dan Koerner to develop digital theatre projects that explore the interactivity between audience and performers in live and on digital/virtual platforms.

Country Arts SA creative producer Performance Development said he was looking forward to the possibilities of future technologies.

“We are interested in initiating work that speaks to the complexities of our relationship with technology,” he said.

“We are working towards the idea that the works will involve a combination of South Australian (regionally and Adelaide located), nationally recognised and internationally based artists, audiences and communities and we envisage the digital platforms will encourage a fluidity of interactions over those great distances.”

The successful applicant will be involved in the projects working from home, on site in Adelaide or in regional South Australia with Sandpit and Country Arts SA.

To apply you need to be a resident of regional South Australia and be over the age of 18 (or turning 18 in 2015).
