COVID-19 Update – Nov 24

Nov 24

In accordance with the lifting of some of the lockdown restrictions brought in to place last week, we are able to reopen our theatres for movie screenings at a reduced capacity. Our box office hours at Arts Centres will return to normal.

The health of our patrons and staff is of paramount importance to us. We will be working within the rule of one person per 4 square metres and have ensured that we are providing extra cleaning of all touchpoints within our Art Centres. Your wellbeing matters to us so we have enhanced our current COVID Safety Plan which can be found here.

Due to the recent cases of COVID-19 in South Australia, Country Arts SA’s Art Centres, including the Middleback Arts Centre in Whyalla, Northern Festival Centre in Port Pirie, Chaffey Theatre in Renmark, Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre in Mount Gambier and the Hopgood Theatre in Noarlunga will be temporarily closed from today during the state-wide six day “circuit breaker” lockdown.

Events at each venue have now been suspended or cancelled for this period. Due to the nature of the immediate lockdown, not all refunds can be processed until we can return to the venue. We are working through as many as we can today before our staff need to remain at home for the next 6 days. All tickets will be fully reimbursed, and audience members are asked to please be patient as staff from each art centre start the process of organising refunds.

Updates will be posted on Country Arts SA’s website and social media channels. Country Arts SA Chief Executive/Executive Director Anthony Peluso said: “Like all South Australians today, we are doing everything we can to stop the spread. Unfortunately, we have had to cancel some of our planned performances and others have been suspended. We will continue to keep our patrons updated in line with SA Health advice and will be communicating further via our social channels, website and email to keep them informed. We want everyone to stay safe, be kind and look after each other as we head into this lockdown.”

Please submit your queries to your local art centre here and they will be replied to during office hours.
