Internationally lauded, Swiss born artist Joe Felber delighted participants at the Streaky Bay Learning Connections photographic workshop on Friday July 19.
Joe is one of the featured artists in Country Arts SA’s Full Spectrum touring exhibition and lectures in photography at the Adelaide College for the Arts (ACArts) Institute.

The Learning Connections workshop began with an overview of composition, lighting techniques and portraiture. Throughout the day, Joe introduced participants to his photographic practices and those of the other artists featured in Full Spectrum. Participants also discussed the role of photography in contemporary art.
Participants then took a stroll out to the mangroves near the Streaky Bay Foreshore Tourist Park, to capture images, focusing on conceptual landscapes. Joe worked with each person to upload their image on to a laptop and to digitally manipulate them.

Feedback from people who took part in the one day workshop, has been overwhelmingly positive.
Joe Felber encouraged participants to produce one or two works taken during the workshop to be displayed alongside the Full Spectrum exhibition in August.
Full Spectrum
Full Spectrum will be exhibited at the Streaky Bay Visitor Information Centre Gallery from Friday August 30 to Friday October 18, 2013.
Full Spectrum offers audiences a challenging and thoughtful view of photography today by presenting the image as both conceptual and cultural object; deconstructed, layered, distilled, practiced and valued. – Gregory Ackland, 2011
