Community Group of the Year

Clare Valley’s HATs voted SA’s ‘Community Group of the Year’

HATS  Inc (Heritage Arts & Traditions) based at the Auburn Cultural Centre in the Clare Valley are proud to announce that they have been awarded the 2013  Prime Super Community Group of the Year Award

The Award was presented to HATs on Friday 1st November at the SA Community Achievement Awards Gala Presentation Dinner at the Ramada Grand Glenelg.

Last month HATs Inc also received the 2013 Ruby Award for the Arts for Best Regional or Community project under $100,000.

Cherie Harvey, Chairperson for HATs accepted the Community Group of the Year Award which comprises a stylish glass trophy along with a cheque for $2,000.

“HATs is overjoyed that our cultural work in the Clare Valley and Mid North has been recognised so widely, both for our work in the cultural arena as well as our community development and contribution. HATs has a strong vision of how we can invigorate arts activity in our region and we have been held up as a model of how to bring together arts and community.

Receiving these two important awards will bring our organisation and our team not only wider recognition but also a greater awareness of the importance of the arts in strengthening the community, contributing to  a creative identity,  building  regional business, tourism and increased participation and well being”
