Clare Valley Carnival of Music

This year’s HATS Carnival of Music in Auburn will continue its tradition of bringing the world’s music to the Clare Valley with an exhilarating array of performances on Friday 8 November and Saturday 9 November.

Clare Valley Carnival of Music will explore the globe with the rich sounds of Russian cabaret by Volya Russian Ensemble, haunting songs from merry-England by Folk-Rock group Spiral Dance, central American street music  by Nice Verdes and African drumming by Ghana’s Bortier Okoe.

The carnival launches on Friday night with a special Candlelight Celtic Concert celebrating the formal cultural and historic links between the Clare Valley and County Clare in Ireland.  The evening will feature Irish music and dance by the Jack Brennan and Friends Band  and the ethereal sounds of harpist Siohban Owen with Irish themed food and drinks available.

Saturday’s line-up includes legendary singer-songwriter Eric Bogle (OAM), known for his masterpiece ‘The Band Played Waltzing Matilda’ and Fiona Boyes one of the world’s leading female Blues singers.

Local acts include Mid-North singer-songwriter Maggie Rutjens, The Shakers, Clare High School Students, Walter Ison and a debut performance by Courthouse Ladies Choir.
