The iconic 1970’s Mannum Leisure Centre has received a splash of colour by local primary and secondary students led by experienced Adelaide street artist, James Dodd. The students worked alongside James for a week to design and execute the bold design onto the vast walls.
The project was a partnership initiative between Mid Murray Councils Community Development programs which included Arts and Culture, Fun 4 Youth and OPAL.
This strategy is just one of many Council initiatives to reinvigorate important community assets. The ability to brighten the exterior, engage and empower young people and create a significant piece of public community art now makes this an exciting and positive community asset for the residents of the Mid Murray region.
