A Brush with Art: 7th September – 7th October, 2013
‘A Brush with Art’ is a month long celebration of art in the Flinders Ranges region, a place that has long inspired artists, filmmakers and musicians with its rich colours and ancient landscape.
This major event features a trail of exhibitions, with workshops in sketching, drawing and watercolour available.
There are downloadable maps and programs on the ‘A Brush with Art‘ website.

‘A Brush with Art’ started in 2004 when an art-trail linked galleries already showing works. It continues to grow each year and now the trail stretches between 13 towns.
Originally, participating artists were a mixture of local and Adelaide residents but in recent years local artists have emerged and now confidently exhibit their talents in this smorgasbord of regional artistic display.
Exhibitions include group shows by Painters of the Flinders Painters, the Quorn Art Group, indigenous painters from the central desert and the Gladstone Annual Art Exhibition.
Solo shows will feature work by established SA artists including:
Bud Stephenson; from signwriter to abstract painter
Georgie Sharp; bright pastel works on paper
Will Simon Zyle; a photographer from Peterborough
Judy Elliott – Maddison; with wonderful watercolours, and
William Snell; a larger than life portrait painter.

The series of exhibitions offers visitors a unique travelling experience and it’s an ideal time for locals and tourists to get out and explore the wonderful region we live in whilst also celebrating the vibrant arts community we are so lucky to have.”
