June 22 Refugee Week

Mount Gambier’s new communities are busy preparing for Refugee Week in June.

Saturday 22 June will see the Migrant Resource Centre in Eleanor Street open up to the general public for Mount Gambier residents to interact with the Karen, Congolese and other new arrivals to find out more about their lives, their journeys, and how the communities are developing in Australia.

A variety of Arts and Crafts will be on display, with the Karen women’s weaving also for sale. Various groups will perform songs and dances, and of course there will be lots of delicious ethnic food available.

Further details will be available soon, but keep this date free for a wonderful intercultural experience!
