15 @ Mannum

We talk and tell stories every day in a limited time frame. You might be having a quick chat to your friend on the phone to recount last night’s gossip or a quick meeting at work to cover a topic that’s just popped up.

We do it every day, but there is an art to telling a good story.  Even more so within a limited time frame!

This is where 15 works its magic. You’ll be entertained in record time!

15 is a vibrant, fast-paced ‘catch-your-breath’ speakers event.  The premise of 15 is simple.  Each event is themed, acting as a guideline for 15 presentations.  Speakers are given the option to curate 15 slides, each shown for 15 seconds, giving a total of 3 minutes and 45 seconds to speak. By imposing a set timeframe we level the playing field and create equality where the untrained enthusiast can present next to the polished CEO.

In 2014-16 Country Arts SA’s “This Is A River” program will deliver a series of projects along the Murray River from Goolwa to the Renmark.  15 @ Mannum is the second project in the “This Is A River” following Flow in the Riverland.

For 15@ Mannum, we are cross-pollinating different professions and ideas to discuss the topic of Resilience, under the theme of “Bounce” all the while celebrating the art of public speaking. Fifteen speakers ranging from academics to sportspeople and local characters from Adelaide and Mannum will step up to the podium on October 24.

The theme “Bounce” under the topic of “Resilience as Process” can reflect any aspect of life, work, and surroundings – anything the speakers which to address.
