WHYALLAS FILM FESTIVAL 2017

Brought to you by Country Arts SA, The Adelaide Film Festivals Curate Your Own Festival program and two local film buffs Michael Parsons and Jack Smith.  The film festival will see 4 short films on the big screen. Including two short films by local film makers.

Session 1 (PG) 6pm
Area 53 a short film produced by Michael Rositg about the D’faces production and Ailen invasion on Whyalla.

My Life as a Zucchini (PG) no, not another cooking show, but a stop-motion about a young orphan. Courgette has only a beer can by which to remember his mum, but he quickly finds other kids who has have had it just as bad. Together, they quietly find what is takes to survive when there is no on to love them.

Session 2 (M) 8pm

Walter – a short film by local film maker Dave Wade. 1969. While travelling through an outback town, two peace-loving hippies accidentally run over a small dog belonging to a family of proud war veterans.

Spookers (M) Who wants to earn a living as an insane clown or zombie bride? Actors at the phenomenally successful Spookers horror theme park in Auckland, that’s who! In this documentary by Florian Habicht, we meet the people behind the make-up and discover what’s drawn them to such an unusal line of work.

All proceeds from the night will be donated to Royal Flying Doctors Service Whyalla Support Group.
