This is My True Story! – uneARTh Festival 2021

90 Minutes

About

ActNow Theatre’s ‘Theatre of the Global Majority’ (TOTGM) returns with This Is My True Story!. First performed at the SANAA Festival in 2020, Theatre of the Global Majority are eager to bring their stories to the uneARTh Festival 2021.

This Is My True Story! gives a look into the lives of six TOTGM participants. From the halls of a museum in New York City to outside a small town in Bosnia, This Is My True Story!  will dance across time and move you with them.

Theatre of the Global Majority is a free fortnightly program for people aged 18+ from non-white culturally diverse backgrounds. Theatre of the Global Majority recognises non-white people make up the biggest population of people in the world – and the Australian arts scene needs to hold up their voices.

Directed by Yasmin Gurreeboo and Valerie Berry. Performed by Valerie Berry, Matcho Cassidy, Chela Bett, Mursia Hasanovic, Noni Padley, Nelya Valamanesh and Chris Best. Produced by Louise Wellington.

Presented by ActNow Theatre with the support of the Australian Government through the Department of Home Affairs and by Country Arts South Australia.
