Tatachilla Lutheran College is proud to present Disney’s The Little Mermaid at the Hopgood Theatre, from 2-4 May.

It’s 30 years since the animated film first appeared on screens, and the show has delighted generations of audiences over and over. The stage version contains many of the things we love about the film, and more!

Ariel is a young mermaid who, literally and metaphorically, yearns to ‘stand on her own two feet’ and build her own identity above the surface of the water. Similarly, Prince Eric longs to forge his own identity as a man rather than a prince. They both have to navigate the expectations placed upon them to find true love and happiness. Throw into that mix a dastardly villain – the Sea Witch Ursula – and a cast of comical characters such as Sebastian the crab and Scuttle the seagull, and you have a wonderful show full of memorable songs.

Tatachilla Lutheran College has a reputation for producing high-quality productions and this one is no exception. Come and see how we bring to life all of the creatures and their antics above and below water, and see a cast of 80 students aged between 8 and 18 create magical moments on stage.

We can’t wait for you to join us ‘under the sea’ in May!
