“Bangarra’s most perfect show” – Sydney Morning Herald
In all its forms and colours, ochre is essential to the life of Aboriginal communities. This four-part contemporary dance work – yellow, black, red and white – is a portrayal of each colour of this earthy substance, its myriad of purposes and the spiritual significance to Aboriginal people.
Ochres, first performed in 1994, became a watershed production for Bangarra leading to sell out shows around the country. Now back in 2021, Ochres is on a limited tour of regional South Australia.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see Australia’s oldest living culture come to life on stage.
Bangarra is a leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performing arts company, widely acclaimed nationally and around the world for their powerful dancing, distinctive theatrical voice and utterly unique soundscapes, music and design.
This show will be selling to capacity, at this stage you will be required to wear a mask.
