Come celebrate the reopening of the Hopgood Theatre with a day of creativity, activity and community spirit. Whether you stay for the whole afternoon or just drop in for a while, there’ll be plenty to explore.

The afternoon will feature a mix of hands-on workshops, creative play, performances, and behind-the-scenes experiences, spread across multiple spaces in and around the theatre.

The program includes:
• Outdoor Entertainment and a community BBQ
• Cardboard City construction (suitable 5 – 12 y/o)
• Puppet Making (suitable 4 – 8 y/o)
• Animation workshops (5 – 15 y/o)
• Short film Screenings (suitable 4 – 8 y/o)
• Music Concerts & demonstrations (all ages)
• Storytime sessions (suitable 1y/o – 6 y/o)
• Costume creation and parades (suitable all ages)
• Family Friendly chill zone
• Behind-the-scenes tours (suitable 12 y/o +)
And more!

Families can move at their own pace, with activities repeating or running throughout the afternoon so you can come for the whole event from 1pm–4pm or drop in anytime to experience what’s on offer.

All arts activities are free, with food and drinks available to purchase at the sausage sizzle or at the theatre’s candy bar.

The Free Family Fun Day is your chance to celebrate the Hopgood Theatre’s spectacular $6 million transformation, supported by a State Government grant, come explore its refreshed spaces and enjoy exclusive access to behind-the-scenes areas.
