About

You’ll Laugh, You’ll Cry, You’ll Be Inspired – Don’t Miss Come From Away in the Riverland

In 2025, the Riverland Musical Society proudly presents Come From Away – the ground-breaking Broadway musical that has captivated audiences around the world with its heart, humour, and humanity.

Based on the remarkable true story of a small town in Newfoundland that opened its arms to thousands of stranded airline passengers in the wake of September 11, this uplifting show is a celebration of kindness, connection, and the extraordinary generosity of ordinary people. With a soaring score, unforgettable characters, and storytelling that will move you to tears and laughter in equal measure, Come From Away is unlike anything the Riverland has ever seen.

This year’s production holds special significance as we partner with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, raising awareness and funds for this life-saving organisation. Just like the story at the heart of Come From Away, the RFDS is a testament to compassion and care in the face of crisis – values we hold dear in our regional community.

Staged entirely by passionate local volunteers – from our talented cast and musicians to our behind-the-scenes crew – Come From Away is a true labour of love, brought to life by the heart and soul of the Riverland.

Don’t miss this unforgettable theatrical event. Come for the music. Stay for the story. Leave uplifted.

We do advise that this production does contain some coarse language, adult themes and brief nudity.
