About

A highlight of State Opera’s 2019 season, Carmen will be performed outdoors in Adelaide’s Victoria Square and simulcast live to the Northern Festival Centre in Port Pirie, giving opera lovers in regional SA the chance to experience it at the same time.

Written by French composer Georges Bizet, the four-part Carmen has everything you would want in an opera: high drama, passionate characters, a love story and music you will recognise. Don’t miss one of the best known and loved operas of all time.

This is family-friendly concert and a contemporary take on the famous story of jealousy and passion. Strutting bull-fighters, beautiful girls, glorious music … Carmen is unmissable!
