Sisters of Abundance Choir presents Sing It Again, Sista!

About

In 2005 a group of ladies took on the role of the Nuns in the Tatachilla Lutheran College production of ‘The Sound of Music’. They enjoyed the experience so much they wanted to keep singing.

In September 2005 Greg John invited the ladies to form a choir and Sisters of Abundance was born.

Their first performance was in December 2005 when they sang a medley of songs from the film ‘Sister Act’. This medley has become our theme song and is often requested at performances.

Gaenor Roeger taught us our first choreography steps and we haven’t stopped dancing since.

2015 marks the 10th Anniversary of the choir and our ‘Sing It Again, Sista!’ Concert program includes specially selected songs taken from each year’s concert performances.

Consisting of female voices with members from southern suburbs, Sisters of Abundance gather weekly at Tatachilla Lutheran College, McLaren Vale to sing away life’s stresses.

From contemporary music to gospel, movie show tunes, and lilting folk songs, the voices blend and the toes tap in weekly exercise.

‘Sisters of Abundance’ perform at local events including annual Christmas Carols and Willunga’s Almond Blossom Festival.

New members are welcome to try for free – no auditions, just friendly singing.

Contrary to misconceptions, we are sisters in song, and definitely NOT Nuns!

Popular songs from our repertoire have included ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams, Leo Sayer’s ‘You Make Me Feel Like Dancing’, through to Mariah Carey, Queen and catchy tunes in Spanish and Hebrew.

The Sisters’ unique difference from other choirs is their use of complementary choreography.
