Country Arts SA recognises that we are living and creating on First Nations Lands and we are committed to working together to honour their living cultures.
Jill Berry is a mixed-media artist who will guide participants to create maps from their own life experiences, using collage, painting and ephemera on canvas, as a tool of self-discovery and storytelling.
Humans have been making maps for thousands of years: it is an urge some of us can’t resist. These maps of the imagination can record our journeys of the past, future, backyards, hopes, dreams, and mythological places. Over the two days we will make varied maps and a case to contain them, and discuss the historical and contemporary treatments of maps and mapmaking.
Venue: Naracoorte Art Gallery
Dates: Saturday & Sunday March 29-30, 2014
Cost: $130 for the two day workshop
