Country Arts SA recognises that we are living and creating on First Nations Lands and we are committed to working together to honour their living cultures.
Country Arts SA is proud to support First Nations filmmaking. As part of our commitment, we will run a three-day writers’ workshop focusing on project development and production within documentary filmmaking.
This workshop is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are emerging documentary filmmakers and will focus on developing the skill set and knowledge of scriptwriting and the development of a short documentary project.
The intended development outcome for participants will be a completed logline, synopsis, script and a pitch video for their project.
One project will be selected for production in early 2023 which will premiere at Nunga Screen 2023 in May, commissioned by Country Arts SA.
The incubator will be facilitated by filmmaker Josh Trevorrow and Producer Dominic Guerrera, with guest presentations from Aboriginal filmmakers.
Who can apply:
Dates of workshop: Monday 16 – Thursday 18 of January 2023

Travel, accommodation, and per diems will be provided. Travelling to and from the workshop is the participant’s responsibility, although some financial support will be provided.
