A Celebration of over 105 Years Brass & Concert bands in Whyalla!

Be excited, entertained and enjoy the celebrations, as bands from across the state celebrate over 105 years of brass and concert banding in Whyalla! The shows compère will be Rev. Gordon L. McKenzie, B.Mus. (Melb.), A.Mus.A., C.P.T.R. (Dist.), C.M.C. Cert. IV.
Talent, dedication, sound Classical and University Conservatorium background, established Gordon as a successful multi-talented musician, entertainer, stage and radio-personality. Internationally-recognised, pianist; organist; bass-baritone; compère; accompanist, radio personality; silent-movie organist; piano-accordionist; voice-over and recording artist who has narrated many documentaries and adjudicated several eisteddfods. Gordon presents the weekly national radio programme, “Let the Bands Play”, featuring brass, military and pipe-bands, heard on over 50 stations across Australia!
Be present for Whyalla’s “brightest and best” youth, as they share skill and musical talent with performances from the Whyalla Secondary Schools Stage Band and members of the Samaritan College Band. Local brass band – Whyalla Community Brass, joins Port Lincoln City Band performing as the “Whyalla Anniversary Concert Band”!
Some of the biggest, most talented bands, (from around our state), will put on a great show including the, Kadina, Wallaroo, Moonta Band (KWM Band), Marion City Band and “premier” band the Royal Australian Navy Band (Adelaide)! A great night of family entertainment, celebration and talent – not to be missed!
