This year, the Limestone Symphony Orchestra celebrates its fifth joyous season. The 2017 program has been especially designed to highlight some of our most talented local soloists.
Included in this line-up are sopranos Vivienne Dowling and Amy Williams singing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Pie Jesu and the ravishing Panis Angelicus. French Horn player Tameka Nube will perform Mozart with the orchestra and pianist Daniel Lynn plays the world premiere of “Alban’s Theme” by Ken Stott. Other soloists include guitarist Michael Walsh, flautist Scott Gunn and trumpeter Daniel Caton.
Now in its second season with the orchestra, the Limestone Coast Symphonic Chorus under the leadership of Jodi Swiggs will perform several works, including Howard Goodall’s version of “The Lord is my Shepherd”, made famous as the theme for the TV series The Vicar of Dibley.
Also on the program are selected orchestral favourites from Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Holst, Wagner and Arthur Sullivan with Klaus Badelt’s thrilling “Pirates of the Caribbean” to complete an evening of exhilarating music with soloists and members of the Limestone Coast Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.
