Chaffey Theatre celebrating 30 years is proud to present Dean Semmler’s Coffee Filx Program. Dean has taken on the role of Ambassador for the Chaffey Theatre. 

Dean Semler, A.C.S., A.S.C., AM is an Oscar winning Australian cinematographer. In his career he has worked as a cinematographer, camera operator, director, second unit director, and assistant director.

Born in Renmark in 1943, Dean’s career has taken him from working as a humble props boy at NWS9 in Adelaide to being the Director of Photography on more than 70 movies and television series. His distinctive style won him the Oscar in 1990 for Dances With Wolves as well as nine other international and national awards.

We Were Soldiers is the story of the first major battle of the American phase of the Vietnam War and the soldiers on both sides that fought it.Chaffey_30yearsLogo
