Success for Riverland Photographers

Fifty Shades of Earl Grey by Terry MarterThree Riverland photographers have done well in this year’s South Australian Photographic Federation’s Annual Exhibition.

This year attracted a record 1200+ entries, and to maintain the SAPF’s high standards only about 35% of entries were accepted for exhibition.

Riverland Camera Club members, Dean Lines, Rod Bradtke and Terry Marter all had some of their work accepted, with Dean Lines and Rod Bradtke each gaining two Acceptance awards. Terry Marter gained Twelve Acceptance awards, five of which were also awarded a Merit.

Two of Terry Marter’s entries were retained by the SAPF to be included in a set of images that will form South Australia’s entry in the Inter-State Photographic Competition to be held in conjunction with the 2014 Australian Photographic Society Convention (APSCON). This Year’s week-long convention will be held at Wangarrata (Vic) in September.

This is not the first time Mr Marter’s images have been entered by the SAPF at APSCON. In 2010 he was awarded the coveted Herbert Medallion for the best projected image.

The Riverland Camera Club was also the highest scoring country club in the SAPF Exhibition Club Set (of images) competition, coming fourth in the overall rankings.

Anyone wishing to improve their photographic skills (or just hang out with other keen photographers) might like to consider joining the Riverland Camera Club. The club is not just for accomplished photographers. Skill levels among club members range from beginners to advanced and members are happy to share their knowledge. Interested parties are welcome to drop in to any RCC meeting: 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month, 7.30pm at Berri Primary School (Admin entrance).

Terry Marter has posted his images from the SAPF annual on Youtube. They can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7KqDU3_294  It is recommended that prior to viewing, the Youtube screen settings icon is adjusted to HD.
