A glass was raised for Keith artist Rhonda Kellock as she was remembered in a special exhibition hosted by the Promoters of Entertainment and Arts in Keith (PEAK) – a committee she chaired for 13 years.
Rhonda passed away from a brain tumor on July 1 at the age of 52.
Rhonda was the epitome of a community minded person and an active and vocal supporter of arts and cultural development in the Tatiara. Over the last 15 years she has attracted much funding and significant public art to Keith as well as driving a range of significant community events.
Rhonda was also a talented ceramicist holding many joint and solo exhibitions as well as acting as a mentor to many artists across the state. True testament to her strength and determination Rhonda was part of a sell-out group exhibition held at the Walkway Gallery just a month before she passed away.
“Raise Your Glass” exhibition featured 35 invited South Australian artists over two days in September at the Keith Institute. Artists commission of any artwork sold and all bar profits going towards the Cancer Council of SA. The event successfully raised over $4,700.
The exhibition also featured a retrospective of Rhonda’s ceramic work.
