Smithy is a musical about the annual school play. Miss Byrde (Kelsey Brown) Is a fresh out of college drama teacher and Smithy (Brandon Duncan) is the school scoundrel. She has had four years of training; he has had at least ten...sound familiar?
There is more... Ms Stocks (Kimberley McLean) "think Sue from Glee" is the Physical Education Teacher, she 'hates' drama and all it stands for. The story has Belinda (Ebony North), the coolest girl in school playing the lead role in the school play, and Smithy who wants to join the Drama group, just to be able to meet girls...namely Belinda.
Will this be the downfall of poor Miss Byrde? Will Ms Stocks triumph in cutting the school's Drama budget once and for all? Why is the old Principal - "Terror Thompson" (Matt Thompson) called out of retirement? Come and see Port Pirie Youth Theatre's 2010 production of 'SMITHY' by Maverick Musicals to see this memorable yet funny storyline being brought to a conclusion with an interesting twist.
