Le Chéile, meaning ‘being together’, is an international exhibition that has been created from a Welsh-Irish collaborative project involving artists communicating through the medium of printmaking.
Issues of the land, language, place and the sense of home and belonging are explored in this fascinating exhibition which features various print making techniques, including screen printing, etching and wood cuts.
The Le Chéile exhibition is the result of a project which was developed from a number of exchange visits and communications between artists from Wales and Ireland.
The works have been developed by being sent back and forth across the Irish Sea, with each artist responding to work that has been sent to them. In addition, for the Country Arts SA tour, three Australian artists of Welsh and Irish decent were also invited to participate.
