Adelaide Fringe, Adelaide Festival, Country Arts SA and the Rural City of Murray Bridge invite you to share in two summer evenings of incredible music and culture from around the globe set on the edge of the river at Sturt Reserve. Enjoy beverages from the licenced bar and food lovingly prepared on the quirky new barbecues constructed by local tradesmen in a community project, Blokes and their BBQs, during 2009.

Sara Storer is the most awarded female artist in Australian country music history, having swept all before her when she took home 7 Golden Guitars on one amazing night in 2004. Since then Sara has gone on to cement her place as one of Australia’s most important singer / songwriters.
In a chapter from a book called Women of the Outback by Sue Williams, Australia’s most revered songwriter, Paul Kelly, said, “Sara’s songs are grounded in real stories. You know she’s paid attention, heard the bush waking up in the morning, listened to the worries thrashed out at the kitchen table, smelt dry summer wheat up close, dreamed of far away places in a bedroom with a window on a big sky, driven miles on dirt and bitumen and fallen in and out of love. She’s found her own way to sing the stories that are all around her and then inside her bubbling out. She doesn’t copy over-emotive, fake sincere twangy country singers from overseas. In this three-hour show, which has played to sellout houses in Adelaide since inception, the band pumps out more than 30 songs from The Eagles’ repertoire, from Take it Easy, Lyin’ Eyes and Hotel California through to tracks off the December ’07 double cd Long Road Out Of Eden.
The Bald Eagles offer six-part harmonies plus a formidable instrumental line-up to match: a range of acoustic and electric 6 and 12 string guitars, slide guitars, banjo, mandolin, mouth harp, fretless and fretted electric basses, drums, percussion and keyboards.
What makes this more than a run-of-the-mill tribute show is the band’s own brand of wry humour, which is self-deprecating and provoking in its digs at all those things that characterise the Baby Boomer generation.

An all-terrain, all ages exploration of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale, The Snow Queen.
theatre simple from Seattle, USA, join with a local cast and crew to tell the story of Gerda as she searches for her lost friend in and around Murray Bridge’s riverfront Sturt Reserve.
Tagging along with the players, you’ll discover love in many guises – remembering what it means to grow up, but not away from the child inside. Expect random encounters with devious devils, singing flowers, royalty, talking crows and guardian angels.

If you can’t get a spot on the Gerda’s Journey promenade, there will be plenty of entertainment direct from the Adelaide Fringe back at the main site from 5pm to keep you amused until the mainstage performances each evening.
On Saturday Erth will provide an eye-popping experience with their giant mechanical dinosaurs and giant insects – the kids will absolutely love them and learn cool stuff at the same time; Gravity and other Myths will confront their fears through physical theatre, spoken word and dynamic acrobatics. Freefall follows seven distinct characters as they reveal their own fears, both common and bizarre.
On Sunday Icarus present Roo’d - giant kangaroos on amazing bouncing stilts. Jumping up to a metre off the ground and two metres in a bound, they are a phenomenal sight. Their characters are a crossover of outback macho and inner city punk savvy — always Roo'd but never offensive. A favourite at festivals around the world. Voted 2nd best act (after Coldplay) at the 2002 Glastonbury Festival on BBC Radio 1 Listeners Poll. You’ll also meet Cocoloco’s Audrey, a cleaning lady who talks more than she cleans and a twitcher who‘s spent so much time birdwatching that her head has turned into a nest from which birds surreally appear.

See yourself, your life, your family, your friends, your state… in the most extraordinary way.
Following a call out to the public of South Australia, including a special call to the Murray Bridge community, Traces Films, bring you Reel Life: a collection of re-edited footage woven into an evocative film presented in the nostalgic glow of the Super 8 medium.
Poignant, surprising and powerful, this montage of South Australian life will be screened during the Adelaide Festival and in prominent outdoor locations during Ripples 2010. The first of these is during Dusk on the Riverfront at Sturt Reserve.
Life is fleeting…. but these memories will never fade.

Digital Odyssey - Craig Walsh National Residency Project
Internationally acclaimed projection and digital media artist Craig Walsh will be resident in Murray Bridge during February and March to produce work and share his skills with the community.
An Australian artist with a strong global profile – Craig’s work has been included in international events from Drift 08 in London to the Koganecho Bazaar in Yokohama – he uses computer manipulated imagery for his stunning large-scale projections. Specific to local environments and contexts, his artworks encourage people to question their engagement with the site and the community.
He has presented work in diverse locations including train lines, car parks, waterways, shop windows, galleries and historical architecture. He is especially interested in developing cross disciplinary and cultural collaborations.
Craig has been awarded international residencies, exhibited through Asia working across a range of forms including theatre, architecture, public works, gallery exhibitions and festivals.
Craig Walsh’s Digital Odyssey is a national touring project presented by the Museum of Contemporary Art in association with the artist.
