Perceptions of Distance
An initiative of the Regional Galleries Association of SA and curated by Lucia Pichler, Perceptions of Distance features the work of 12 regionally based SA artists whose work explores ideas of peripheries and place.
It has significant relevance to regional students exploring personal and community identity. Visual Arts students will be able to study the different ways in which individual artists see themselves in relation to their local community and place and the strategies and techniques they have developed to communicate this with others through their art. Environmental issues and the importance of place, time and isolation make this an ideal starting point for exploring through written expression, personal senses of identity and connection with place.
