2010 Regional Centre of Culture - Ripples Murray Bridge

Go to the Ripples website

This year Murray Bridge takes up the challenge to embrace a year long cultural program reflecting the unique aspirations of the community, telling the stories of the region and providing opportunities for world - class arts experiences, learning new skills and creating new partnerships.

With the Regional Centre of Culture program reflecting growing international awareness of the stimulus effect that an injection of arts activity into a major regional centre can create, and the ripple effect that it can have across the community, Murray Bridge has an unparalleled opportuntiy to show the world what a dynamic regional community can achieve.

Country Arts SA is proud to manage the Regional Centre of Culture program in partnership with the Rural City of Murray Bridge and on behalf of the State Government. Country Arts SA would like to acknowledge the Rural City of Murray Bridge for its vision in seeking to be the host of the 2010 Regional Centre of Culture. The major redevelopment of the Murray Bridge Town Hall into a performing and visual arts space is a significant investment not only in the 2010 Ripples program, but also in the social and economic fabric of this rural city and the wider region to ensure a lasting legacy well into the future.

In putting together the Ripples program Country Arts SA have consulted widely with the community of Murray Bridge and we would like to thank the Ripples Reference Group and Aboriginal Steering Group, Kungan Ngarrindjeri Yunnan – Listen Ngarrindjeri Speak, for their constant support throughout this process.

Both Country Arts SA and the Rural City of Murray Bridge invite you to embrace all the 2010 Ripples program has to offer, to think about ways of bringing the community together in a spirit of cooperation and mutual benefit and to find the courage to choose unconventional paths in order to make the most of the opportunities that the program presents.

Make the time to the journey…..
